If you’ve ever extended invitations to a birthday party, you’re likely familiar with the modern frustration of the RSVP. I’ve helped my daughters host countless parties for my grandchildren, and it’s not unusual for us to be left hanging the day before the party, wondering who—if anyone—would show up.
So far, every party has been a success, with full attendance. But more times than not, up to half of the invited guests—whether they came or not— failed to RSVP.
Too many times nowadays, commitment seems to be a thing of the past. That’s frustrating when hosting a party, but troubling when it comes to the Church.
“The Lost Art of Obligation” is a short devotion I wrote over at The Joyful Life Magazine. It’s a quick read, and you can check it out HERE.
