My online dictionary defines a pow wow as “a conference or meeting for discussion, especially among friends or colleagues.”
That’s why, when my husband and I were raising our three daughters, we often convened a family pow wow. We wanted a meeting designed for discussion.
Sometimes our discussions were about conflicts we were dealing with as a family. At other times, we simply wanted to ensure we were all on the same page about certain issues.
Our family meetings weren’t always fun times, but they were always fruitful. Like a company meeting in a conference room, our family pow wows were purposeful and focused.
Family meetings are a good idea for every family. That’s why I wrote down why and how to have one over at http://joyfullifemagazine.com.
