There’s nothing quite like parenting middle schoolers.
In between childhood and the wonderful world of teenagers, there’s the middle schooler. Filled with important feelings and first tastes of independence, middle schoolers are often filled with excitement, doubt, frustration, and uncertainty. And often all those emotions come packaged in the same moment.
Parenting middle schoolers
Although parenting middle schoolers is a challenge, it’s also a holy calling. It requires “gentleness, firmness, and huge doses of grace. It’s not a job for cowards, but neither is it a time for callousness. No matter how trying or surprising the season, we can call on the Lord to ‘teach {His ways} to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise’ “(Deuteronomy 11:19, ESV).
